Unlike standard cartridges with a 58 mm diameter, Bregus® Classic cartridges have an increased diameter of 63-72 mm, which provides:

Food-grade Materials

All cartridges are made from special materials certified for contact with food products and drinking water.

Bregus® Classic 01 BASIC — Basic Protection

Kit composition:

  • BC-PP5 — Mechanical cartridge 5 μm (foamed polypropylene, diameter 63 mm)
  • BC-CTO — Carbon cartridge (sintered block, diameter 69 mm)
  • BC-PP1 — Mechanical cartridge 1 μm (foamed polypropylene, diameter 63 mm)

Purpose: Universal budget kit for osmosis systems with relatively clean or pre-treated mains water.

Advantages:

  • Optimal value for money
  • Two-stage mechanical filtration (5 μm + 1 μm)
  • Effective chlorine removal
  • Capacity up to 12,000 litres

Recommended for: Municipal water supply with relatively clean water or pre-treated water for domestic use.

  • BC-aGAC — Granular activated carbon (diameter 72 mm)

Purpose: One of the most popular pre-filtration kits for osmosis with increased performance and capacity.

Recommended for: Municipal water supply with relatively low mechanical impurities, chlorine, and low bacterial count.

Technology: Winding of polypropylene string onto a rigid core

  • Diameter: 70 mm (increased!)
  • Filtration: 5 μm or 1 μm
  • Capacity: Up to 33,000 l or 6 months

Carbon Cartridges

BC-CTO — Sintered Carbon Block

Technology: Pressed activated carbon in the form of a monolithic block

  • Diameter: 69 mm
  • Filtration: >5 μm
  • Capacity: Up to 10,000 l or 6 months
  • Performance: Up to 8 l/min

What it removes:

  • Chlorine and organochlorine compounds
  • Organic contaminants
  • Unpleasant taste and odour

Advantages:

  • Not prone to fouling (important for RO systems!)
  • Monolithic structure without carbon dust
  • Uniform filtration across the entire area
  • High efficiency in chlorine removal

BC-aGAC — Granular Activated Carbon

Technology: High-quality granular carbon with antibacterial coating

  • Diameter: 72 mm (largest in the series!)

When to Replace Cartridges?

Recommended schedule:

  • Mechanical cartridges: every 3-6 months
  • Carbon cartridges: every 6 months
  • When capacity is reached (12,000 or 18,000 l)

Signs replacement is needed:

  • Drop in system performance
  • Appearance of taste or odour
  • Drop in water pressure
  • Darkening of cartridges (visible through transparent housings)
